Japan's Railways Celebrate 150 Years!
14 October is Railway Day(Tetsudo no Hi) in Japan
The day was designated in honor of the opening of Japan's first railway between Shimbashi (Tokyo) and Yokohama on 14 October, 1872 (5th year of the Meiji Era), 150 years ago!
This year, 2022, marks the 150th anniversary of the opening of the railway
Do you know that there is Japan Rail Cafe at Tanjong Pagar?
East Japan Railway Group opened this café in 2016 with the concept of "a place where you can experience Japan and exchange information with other Japan fans”
The cafe holds a Japan Rail Fair every October, and this year it will be even more powerful due to the 150th anniversary!
JAL, NISSIN, and others will have merchandise booths, and there will also be booths introducing tourist information about Japan
The event will also be live-streamed on Facebook and YouTube
Starting this month, 11 October, Japan will lift the cap on the number of people entering the country, lift the ban on individual travel for foreign tourists, and resume visa waivers
Why not go to this fair to prepare your feelings and plans for your trip to Japan?
